Pray - Prayer - Praying on PrayerGroup Christian Social Network

So many people have asked how to best pray. For those who pray often, this question can be puzzling because a strong bond with the Lord often begins with the ability to pray without hesitation. Nonetheless, prayer is not easy for many. Often, it's uncomfortable to start and you wonder if your words are even worthy of the Lord's consideration. Nonetheless, its important to know that prayer is simply a conversation with God.

Each afternoon, you probably talk about your day with your family or friends, reviewing the highlights and perhaps discussing problems you faced that day. Daily prayer is reviewing your day with God. It is how we count our blessings for what went well or seek guidance when we need it. Prayer is an intimate conversation, where you can say anything with the understanding that forgiveness and grace can be yours.

There are many types of prayer. There are words of praise for God's magnificence, prayers expressing gratitude for your blessings or simple humble requests of God when you or another is in need. Prayer is simply a conversation with God and like all relationships, the more we communicate, the closer we become with the Lord.

The way you communicate with God, need not be like anyone else. Some pray through meditation (or complete silence), while others speak out loud. Prayer often takes practice before you find your "voice" with God and you begin to feel comfortable with the relationship you are building with him.

Matthew 7:7 reminds us to: “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

Prayer is coming to God the way you are and  telling Him how you feel.
Prayer is a physiologic and soulful need. It is like the air that we breathe. :)
Prayer is best in the room as you talk w/ GOD.

Matthew 13:16-17  But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
