People like to quote from the letter Paul wrote to the Corinthians that a woman should be silent in church and if she has any questions, she should ask her husband when they get home. Considering the nature of the Corinthian women, they were prideful. He said this to debase them and of course any women that seeks to exalt herself.

A woman should conduct herself in a worthy manner, but those whom the Lord has chose to preach/teach Christ, no one should be against them. If someone is for Christ, should we stop them? No. For he or she, in this matter, who is for Christ is not against Christ. Should the body of Christ be divided? No. What we need in these times are more unity for Christ. Lastly, women also need female ministers for a male minister can't relate to more sensitive feminine subjects.

Yes they should be allowed, and to teach and preach to both men and women, and thankfully forward thinking churches allow that.  We are all equal in Christ and equally able to carry out His tasks.
