Why did Jesus receive the baptism of John since Jesus was not a sinner?

Jesus was baptized by John “to fulfill all righteousness” (Matthew 3:15).

It was necessary for Jesus to do all that was right.

John was sent from God (John 1:6) to bear witness of “the Light,” Jesus (John 1:7, 8).

Please study also John 1:29-34. John was doing God’s will by preaching, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 3:1, 2).

Jesus had no need to repent, but He would not have done all that was right if He had not been baptized.

Jesus so strongly supported John and his message that He preached the same message (Matthew 4:17).

It was needful for the King of the Kingdom “to fulfill all righteousness” (Luke 24:44).
